French catacombs!

On Tuesday we were given the chance to visit the catacombs!  What an amazing thing to see. I did not take any photos with my iPad because it was very dimly lit and it just would not have captured the awesome things. Upon entering the catacombs I thought I was going to be disappointed. We had to travel a ways underground to get to the actual catacombs. They are located below the metro station which was just insane to imagine. Once we arrived in the catacombs there were bone stacked from floor to above my head! And for miles. It was every to see bones that were paper thin some even beginning to turn to dust! I can't even do this place  by simply typing about it. So make sure to check back in a few days and I will add photos and some descriptions of the things we saw. I guess this is what happens when I don't take a few minutes to type every night!  But, I've been running myself ragged to see all of these amazing sights!
Once we returned from the catacombs I started to wrap up some of my art projects. I really do intend to mount and frame all of my work!  I'm just amazed that I still can create art!

A sculpture of Horus the god of death from the louvre. Done with ink, charcoal, and pastel background.

A sculpture of Aphrodite from the louvre. Done with ink, charcoal, and pastel.

A recreation of a Robert Mapplethorpe photo from the grand palaise exhibit. Done in ink, charcoal, and pastel.
