Grand Palaise and L'Atlier

So, yesterday we visited the Grand Palaise to see the Bill Viola and Robert Mapplethorpe expositions.  Bill Viola is a new artist to me and I wasn't sure how I was going to like his art.  I will say his take on art is definitely an interesting one i will see if I can share any of his videos. If not I encourage everyone to check out, The Three Women, Fire Woman, and The Dreamers. All of them are pretty interesting and makes you wonder how he did each one.
We also seen a lot of Robert Mapplethorpes work.  Which for those of you that don't know, did some very provocative work and a majority of it was seen as pornographic. However, for the most part I believe his work is tastefully done. He was able to capture the true beauty of the human form in his picture and continually pushed the envelope to make things edgier.

After the expositions we were set loose to wander the rainy streets!  A group of us decided to go in search of the underground mall at Les Halles. Amongst all the hustle and bustle we came across this...
What exactly is is you ask? Well it's a 6 man band playing in the metro station. They were pretty good and we stood there and admired their talent for awhile. After this I was able to get a few of us to the underground mall which was insane! And then managed to find the correct train in the crazy Les Halle's metro station. Not to shabby for someone who's only lived her for a week and a half. How am I able to navigate so well? Easy keep a constant eye on the line you are looking for. Always know which direction you are trying to go, and don't let the bustling Parisians phase you. They know where they are going try and pretend you know where you're going. :-)
Finally today was L'Artelier (studio day). I was able to complete one project and get a good jump on the second. I really need to get cracking in these next few days.
